James Blinkhorn
Born in 1966 in Manchester, James studied at Tameside College of Art prior to establishing his studio in Cheshire. Recognised in the community as a successful young talent, he featured in many solo shows and began to build up quite the artistic reputation, leading to him securing art representation via Demontfort Fine Art.
Textures, colours and shapes inspire him and he would seek this from his local scrap yard, enjoying exploring particularly when it rained. This then followed onto Blinkhorn's cityscapes which have successfully stamped him on the map. Pushing his inquisitive nature, the artist then travelled across Europe and to the US which saw the stunning visual depictions of the cityscapes.
Eager to explore experimental procedures within his art, Blinkhorn uses a variety of mixed media in order to create the authentic atmospheres within his canvas. Manufacturing over fifty different shades of grey in order to depict the sidewalks, smoke, concrete and skies has enabled his work to be distinctive in style and work fantastically well with the more conventional colours he palettes making his work a unique success within the art world.
