18 April 2014

The work of Kerry Darlington, bestselling Artist of the Year for both 2012 and 2014 was featured as part of fantastic Channel Four series Posh Pawn.  Garnering legions of fans and followers, Posh Pawn seeks to uncover the value of collateral assets such as Lamborghis, mini-submarines, designer goods and art to name but just a few of the desirable items pledged.  Darlington's impressive six-foot original painting 'Sakura' owned by married art-collecting couple Paul and Jackie Ellingworth is their pride and joy; featured on the second episode of the series, the programme traces the hard times forcing the pair to assess their future and raise funds against the painting.  Demonstrating the exceptionally buoyant secondary market for Darlington's rare creations, the work was valued at £95,000, quadrupling the sum that the painting was secured for.

The production of a limited edition of 'Sakura' has been announced which is now available to pre-order at Gallery Rouge.  Contact us at [email protected] to register your interest now.
