Rozanne Bell in Personal Attendance at Gallery Rouge, St. Albans - Saturday 3rd August 2013

15 June 2013

Gallery Rouge St. Albans is delighted to announce that it will welcome gregarious and warm hearted artist ROZANNE BELL into the gallery on Saturday 3rd August between 2pm – 4pm.  Bell has forged a reputation for her punchy and colourful compositions which take in the British coast; covering twenty four hours at the seaside, daytime paintings depict sun drenched shores buzzing with holidaymakers, which gently give way to sleepy moonlit harbour scenes.  Most recently the artist has turned her attention in land, to celebrate wild British flowers in bright and breezy meadows.

Born in 1962 in Zimbabwe, Rozanne Bell lived in her native homeland for 40 years where her self-taught technique attracted attention and exhibition widely across Southern Africa.   In the early noughties the volatile situation in the country invited the artist to consider a new chapter in her life, moving to the United Kingdom with her husband and five children.  The joys of family life are deeply embroidered into Rozanne's work, with each a recognition of the cultural importance of shared lives and experiences.

The ability to adapt to a new environment coupled with her sheer determination has created strong demand for her original paintings. The colour and the personalities of her day-trippers, the depth and life given to her flowers, not to mention the comedy that characterises her animals, all give a clue to her sense of humour and outlook on life. The unique combination of her African roots and British wit are a powerful and seductive mix; resulting in international acclaim.  This position was cemented when Rozanne was invited to exhibit at the prestigious Wimbledon VIP Hospitality lounge as Official Artist of Wimbledon 2013; her work was admired by royalty and the tennis elite alike.

The exhibition will showcase a strong and extensive collection of original paintings, keenly priced from £595.  If you should like to attend on Saturday 3rd August we would welcome your RSVP to [email protected].
