Leanne is an embellished oil painter from Warwickshire, now living in Devon. Her paintings of wild flower meadows and English country gardens are unmistakably vibrant and dazzling. Once seen, never forgotten. Professionally painting for over twenty years, art and design has always been an important part of Leanne's family life. Some of her earliest memories are of watching her mum sketching and painting in her art studio. She grew up surrounded by paint, brushes, the smell of turps and canvases, which formed an interest in art from an early age.
Leanne's paintings are predominantly created with oil, embellished with glitter, jewels and metal leaf. These unique paintings, regardless of whether they are flowers, seascapes, the water or moorlands, are textured with an almost three dimensional feel. Depending on the time of day or year, the light plays a magical part in making the paintings come to life. Just as an English country garden changed through the seasons and moves towards the sun, magically the paintings seem to mimic nature.
'My head is full of a million paintings and any chance I get to transfer that on to canvas is heaven...time simply disappears and I find it therapeutic. Especially if I'm dealing with some issue, painting gets it all out of my system, and all that energy whether negative or not gets put on canvas. It's never wasted. In fact, I've produced my best pieces when I'm dealing with rubbish in my life.' - Leanne Christie
