Rising Star Lhouette hosting rare 'Live Art' Experience in St Albans Centre on Friday June 12th

Rising 'pop art' sensation Lhouette, whose contemporary urban artworks are being snapped up by notable collectors throughout the UK, will be undertaking a unique live art creation in the centre of St Albans City on Friday June 12th, from 10am to 5pm. With full public access and visibility, this is a fantastic opportunity for the audience to view first hand an artist in full flow.

With his team, Lhouette will be painting and stencilling a four panel 6' by 6' construction to promote his forthcoming exhibition at Hertfordshire's leading art destination Gallery Rouge in St Albans on Saturday 27th June.

A gifted and naturally talented artist, Lhouette was born and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire, where he demonstrated his early promise in the arts. His earliest memories are of drawing, painting and designing. Despite receiving high praise from his teachers and peer group while at school, he rejected the idea of going to art school and surprised family and friends by joining the Royal Navy instead. He says "I wanted to see the world and get inspiration from other cultures." Five years and twenty- one countries later, Lhouette returned to the UK. During his entire naval career he continued to work on his art and creativity, which became infused with the sights and sounds of his experiences around the world.

Since leaving the Royal Navy, Lhouette has wasted no time in establishing himself as a creative force to be reckoned with. Within four years he had founded a high street art studio and exhibition space, Jumble Fresh Gig and Gallery, and achieved a post-graduate diploma in the arts from Birkbeck College, whilst simultaneously forging a name for himself on the contemporary art scene as an exceptionally skilled and innovative artist.

With urban influences and references to pop culture, Lhouette's non-conformist style is impossible to define and continues to develop and evolve. His debut solo exhibition was a sell-out, and when coupled with his shortlisting by the Fine Art Trade Guild as 'Best Up and Coming Artist' in 2014, it's easy to see why many critics are sitting up and taking note. With a flourishing art career ahead of him, his works are being considered as promising investments, further reinforcing his reputation as one of today's most exciting talents on the contemporary art scene.

Kuldip Chohan, Director of Gallery Rouge, has been an art lover and collector for many decades. After a successful corporate career, he now follows his passion for art through his two galleries, the second located in Harpenden. He says "I select the pick of talented artists for my two galleries and typically only hold four exhibitions a year. Without doubt, Lhouette is one of the most exciting figures on today's art scene; a young artist with enormous potential.

"We had an ambitious idea to create a public display of Lhouette's art in the centre of the City and this is going to be something totally unique and never seen before in St Albans. Members of the public are in for an absolute treat and I'm sure that the Lhouette exhibition at Gallery Rouge on June 27th will be a superb event."

Debut Collection from Scott Rohlfs | Coming Soon to Gallery Rouge

The debut collection of limited editions will soon arrive at Gallery Rouge, contact 01727 860401 or 01582 760332 to register your interest now.

A childhood compulsion to draw led Scott Rohlfs into the world of art, where his unique take on 21st-century womanhood has given us some of the most cutting-edge depictions of females on canvas in recent years.

Born in Alaska but raised in the very contrasting landscapes of California, Scott sketched throughout his teens, strongly feeling the pull of portraiture and with early influences including supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. The latest fashion trends, as well as the human body and a sense of dynamic movement, were important in Scott's output even then. The fusion of the human form with fashion remains a key driver in Scott''s work, with his techniques having been carefully and constantly honed over the decades.

"Art and fashion are cross pollinating more than ever. In fact it's possible that the movement has never been riper"

Today, using the mediums of acrylic, spray and oil paint Scott's work celebrates both the voluptuousness and the vulnerability of the human form, as well as its continuing odyssey across modes of representation, from our real-world existence right through to the virtual life, where the portrayal of femininity has evolved dramatically, taking in the idealized womanhood of the gaming world and a more global visual parlance (drawn from sources as diverse as news reportage, film noir and the graphic novel) as well as postmodern influences from multiple modes of being. Scott is refreshingly open about his broad inspirations from many different sources, with artistic references drawn from contemporary art and culture – including couture shows, magazines, photo shoots and music videos - as well as from the real world around him, whether that''s passers-by in the street or strangers in bars.

"Like fashion, art should be about making a personal statement"

In particular, Scott pays much attention to the depiction of the eyes as ''windows to the soul'', evidenced in his work by his almost obsessive inclusion of huge, deep eyes that demand attention and inquiry. A major thrill across Scott's work is that it immediately invites personal narrative drawn from public, or shared, consciousness and visual language.

Scott's distinctively assured brush stroke and his innate understanding of contemporary notions of beauty and style have seen him tipped to become one of the great artists of our time.

When he is not painting Scott spends his spare time with his three toughest art critics, his wife Shelly and two beautiful daughters, Sydney and Gracyn. Scott notes these three women as his main inspiration and driving force.

The Hot New Artist You Need to Know About | Be the first to see the work of Kevin Bandee

Kevin Bandee Introduction copyGallery Rouge is pleased to anounce their representation of Kevin Bandee; magnetic swirling colour is the home of the sensational three-dimensional butterflies which adorn this new collection.  Speaking of his innovative style Bandee comments;

I use a multi-layer approach, with varying depths, each creation is revisited on a number of occasions, taking up to 2 weeks to complete. I have also developed my own True 3D effects style bringing elements of nature to these abstracts to complement each piece.

Born in 1968 Bandee worked first in the IT corporate world for many years.  When his children had flown the nest it provided the perfect opportunity to pursue his lifelong interest in art. As a self-taught visionary of the artistic form Bandee spends much of his time experimenting with many different types of media.  Elaborating, the artist says 'I was looking to create my own unique style, free from any influences and something that had never been seen before.  I have always been interested in Art and have worked in various forms from digital landscapes to metal wall art over the years.

From my digital art experiences, I discovered fractals, infinite complex pictures of repeating geometric shapes that exist within nature, in the beauty of trees, rivers, snowflakes, mountains, clouds and crystals. I wanted to somehow recreate these amazing natural effects in paintings with an abstract twist. This is where my journey started, over three years attempted to create something that represented my interpretations of these formations in a painting. I had to make own paint brushes that did not exist and experiment with different chemicals and paint mixes."
