'On my last visit to the Masai Mara we stayed at a camp called Kicheche, one of the finest camps in the Mara. I was there for a week before going on to the gorillas in Rwanda but during my time at Kickeche, I saw leopard three times plus many lions. There was a small tree close to our camp where a leopard had hidden an impala kill. We went there frequently to catch a glimpse. This sighting inspired my painting.'
