John Milan studied art at the Savannah College of Art and Design and completed his studies at the University of Georgia. He has exhibited his work in many galleries across the US and Europe, and has been commissioned to do murals by businesses and nightclubs in cities as diverse as Miami and Athens.
After graduation, John lived for a time in the beautiful Mediterranean coastal city of Kavala in Greece, and it was this period of his life that has most inspired his work. The bold, clean colours and highly contrasted light and shadows of his high-impact landscapes pay direct tribute to his memories of Greece.John is sociable by nature, and loves to hear and tell stories and the individuals he has met on his way through life. He has a unique talent for capturing the essence of a character with a simple gesture or expression and this engaging element is evident in all his artwork. His paintings are exciting and creative, and owe a great deal to his fun-loving personality.
Currently John works every day in a studio in Arizona, which he shares with his wife Elli. They have three beautiful daughters.
